Question about Outwars.

Its a game about space marines fighting against alien insects in a bunch of different worlds.
So the plot is thin. That's ok, the weapons(gauss rifle to napalm grenades to swarm missiles to remote mines), gameplay, and graphics(for the time) make up for all of it. You get a jetpack too!

Of course this review doesn't do the multiplayer demo lobby the justice that it deserves. One of the tightest knit game lobbies to last for years after the release of the game. Clan rivalry was at a high in this type of environment. Exciting times in the life of vex clan.

OutWars!One of the best games ever!

The only thing that was annoying was the constant flaming in the lobby, otherwise it was cool.I think I still have the demo on my computer.It was pretty cool how the community was so small that everyone knew/hated everyone else.But it would have been nice to have the game last a little longer with a larger member base, but the outdated graphics and small numbers of people werent a big deterent.

You can find copies of the full game on ebay for like 4 bucks, I was thinking of buying it just to play all the way through since the mp demo was the only thing I ever played.

OW got me into the online gamingworld back in '99. I was 12 years old and I played on a 56k modem. DSL was just a distant dream at that time.
I remember that I loved the OW community and the life in it...that lobby was just about the roughest places on the Internet, lol. To get all the
latest cussing words.

Man it feels like I can write a whole book about those days, but I have a girlfriend laying in my bed, and just yeeeeeearning for me. :P :kiss:

Haha oh man the days of outwars werent those the days. LoL i still remeber how I got the beat the commander ribbon, it was in a tourney and I was running away just dropping mines and killed Lixy that way and got congrats for it lol. Man did I suck at that game but it brought me into VeX and SC kept me going in it. Oh man great times, but OW is a thin of the past and should be kept there hehe.

hahaha.... I remember some guy named Mushroomhead in the OW room and he would get onto my nerves bad.... like... really bad. I have a few gaming buddy's in there, but then I got grounded for 8 months and when I came back, there was only around 20 people in the game room... from the older amount of around 80 to 90 ... wow... such awsome days those where. I remember getting the JDI OW ahum... CD Crack. and then they tryed to make me delete it, but I refrused to... hehe. Then Microsoft stopped supporting the game. Now If only they could make a sequal these days to that game, it would be sooo sick! Microsoft probably now a-days whenever someone says Outwars there like , "Out who?!" .

what would outwars be without one of the oldiest hard core members like lix, warhawk,and all the oldiest members that haven long since retired and have to blow dust off their skills. Some of us though still have the edge and the twich of the game and shooting around corners and laying mines and gliches for when people went around corners hehehehe.... and then of cource the slow but bitter end but the memory still lives on. I still can't get over how many people asked me to train them and help them. God what newbies hehehe jk we all have to start somewhere.
