I need help please.

So whenever I go to buy games (almost never) I look at the system reqs.I usually look at the Vid Card requirements first.Alot of times, on games I want I see that a game says it has to be 3D T&L capable . What exactly does this mean?I could be buying games like COD and Halo but they say my video card needs to be 3D T&L capable.

Can anyone help me figure out what that means, and how to check if my video card is 3D T&L capable?Thank you.

Cool, something I don't know off the top of my head. I do know from experience that buying a game, only to get home and NOT be able to play it is VERY dissapointing... infuriating, even.

What does "3D T&L capable" mean? T&L stands for Transformation and Lighting(Ref. 1) It's a standard of programming that helps with graphics rendering on your screen. I found a good thread with some really educated feedback on the same topic. (Ref 3.)

Instead of looking for what to buy, I suggest you look at what NOT to buy (Ref. 2). The LucasArts page tells you want chipsets do not have T&L capability.

I got a little more curious when I went to newegg.com and read some reviews about certain cards. It looks like there is a direct relationship between DirectX9.0 and T&L Capable. newegg.com also showed me the price break for this T&L capability is currently at about $75. Anything cheaper than that probably will not have what you need.
