Inactive Members

I asked Leopard to help with flushing out some inactive members of VeX.

elixir2: there are two kinds of inactive members
elixir2: 1 kind has signed up and replied to the email from the boards, but never posted any thing... called 0-posters
elixir2: and the other kind
elixir2: are those who sign up, but never replied to the email from the board, either because they put a bad email addy or whatever
vex_leopard: Errr
elixir2: the last group should be deleted without question, right?
elixir2: what do you think?
vex_leopard: get rid of them
vex_leopard: the 0 posters... need to be reminded
elixir2: good idea

So while I delete the ones who can't type their email address, Leopard is working on an email "re-invite" that would go out to all the 0-posters.

Also, I tested out the User Auto Delete feature of one of the new mods, and it does not appear to work. Could try more testing, tho.

Auto Deleter might only work with new accounts?

Bounces

Yep, you're right, and the other anti-spam mod also only works with posts made after the mod. Makes sense, of course.

Added after 35 minutes:

I deleted all of the inactive members that failed to correctly register. See the thread "The Cleansing" in the Welcome Area. Leopard is going to post his findings here.

Right Leo??

9 of 25 bounced. That means that 16 went through. Of those 16 who will reply?

PS: The guy named MadMatt.... please don't come back. You signed up about ten times, and used about 10 different email addresses. Not one of them worked for ya, did they?

I got one more bounce. Leo how are you doing?

Chatted with WarHawk a little tonight.

He doing good... in a sense that he is still around on the Internet.

sry :? I got busy this week. I need someone to just delete everyone who is a none poster who does not have an E-mail. It'll just make things go quicker, and be simple... I just relized that, and I was so mad because I was clicking on everyones name, and then I saw the "email this user" sign next to there name... and then I was like... "errr" But I have the E-mail all setup, and I just need to get the rest of the E-mail addresses and I'll be set.

Not really sure what you mean. All registered non- posters have an email address.... maybe you can see it though. Hmmmm. I wonder how that works. Epa? Got any ideas?

Ah, sorry I didn't comment on this earlier, but our board does have a unique EMAIL ALL function. If we want to delete all "0 post count" users I can either run a query in the DB or just parse through the list manually.

If you want to do a DB query, I'd love to sit in on that. It's what we're doing in our current class.

If you're going to "parse manually" ... well, I'm allergic to that. :D
