Hey ah..after I restored my computer everything was normal and I went online and did some stuff, etc. The next day I can connect to internet but no internet application recognizes my connection and nothing internet-wise is working...huh? I did some work on my antivirus specifications but I don't think I did something there cuz I disabled the antivirus for a lil bit and nothing is working still. Can't figgure it out. :?
BTW..I ain't home.

It sounds like there's a problem with one of the following:
DNS Server listing in your internet connection.
IP address on your end. (use auto-obtain).
Proxy Server enabled when it should not be (or vice versa).
Possibly a workgroup or domain setting if you're in that environment (doubtful).
Let me know what you think...

Ahh..I don't know what to think, you're speaking in Klingon. But it doesn't matter because I've apparantlly somehow fixed the durned thing. I uninstalled a anti-spyware software, tried to connect and it didn't work, logged off and logged on with my dad's name and it didn't work, logged back on my name for one final try before I do something drastic like restore the computer again...and it worked (I had done the turn off and logging off technique several times before to no avail). Still confused though.

I would have to know what software you have installed. It was most likely something that was acting as a firewall, etc...
I use WindowsXP, and I use its software firewall at home. I don't use any kind of spyware protector. I don't use Norton Internet Security.
I use Norton AntiVirus, and Systemworks (both from Symantec.com), Spybot - Search and Destroy, and CleanUp. That's it. That's all anyone should need. If you need a firewall, either upgrade to windows XP Pro, or buy a standalone firewall/router.

Thank you General, the spyware thing was just a scanner. I'd scan things and then go in and manually get rid of em. It couldn't block anything. It was like SpyKiller or SpyHunter or somethin.
