The rough draft of the recruiting FAQ is here!
This is the thread to debate, refine and manage our V'er Program. All VeX are welcome to add their thoughts at any time, as with all parts of this board.
The first order of business will be to introduce to everyone the existing "V'er Program" as we have it now. I am assigning that task to WhosNext.

The rough draft of the recruiting FAQ is here!
I like the V'er Program !
But i like the sign up form to!
So, why not combine sign-up with V'er Program ?
Yes.
An important part of the V'er Program is the signup form. Each section will, at some point have a signup form.
Keep in mind, that much of the reason for the signup form was to collect vital information about the User. Now that we have this message board, it collects most of that info, like username, password, email address, ip address, age, location, etc.
So what we need to do is decide what info is gathered by the form. Comments?

VeX-Wolfenstein Recruitment Policy --by VeX--
-----------------------------------------------------------
RECRUITERS, as well as non-recruiters, MUST MEMORIZE AND COMPLY TO ALL THAT IS STATED BELOW.
-----------
RECRUITMENT --VeX--
-----------
I. ADVERTISE. !!--Clearance: Everybody--!!
-------------
All members should have the RtCW Aminator, which [will be] is in the Files section of Y!G.
They must also get the VeX site animation script, which is also in the Files section. Site should be animated
at end of every round.
II. Formal Recruitment. !!--Clearance: Recruiters--!!
-----------------------
If Recruiters happen to notice a player that seems to be GOOD, they
should do the following.
a) Observe the player to determine their playing stlye, and if they play well at all.
Observe how they deal with fights, objectives, and MOST IMPORTANTLY if they are good
team players. Also there class of choice, and if they
play their role well. (give ammo or medikit when asked, airstrikes, etc..)
1. Playing stlyes: Aggresive, Conservative, Careless, Renagade and Passive
We will accept all playing types.
b) After Part A, player should be aproached, complimented on playing stlye, and invited to VeX.
c) If they agree, ask them for their email address, and give them the site, also tell them
about Charter Communications DS3, the clan server, if your not on that server, of course.
You must tell them that you are only recruiting them, not making them full VeX. Tell them there is a
waiting period of one week in which they will meet the clan, get all sorts of info, and join Y!G. The
"Welcome" message should be sent to them via email ASAP, with all the info.
d) Also, new recruit must be instructed to goto the site, and apply via the "Apply" button. In the comments
section, recruit must mention that they were recruited and by who. It also get their IP address.
III. INVITE/APPROVAL to YG. !!--Clearance: Recruiters--!!
---------------------------
AFTER reciving the application form, Elixir must notify a recruiter for a try-out. That recruiter must make contact with SignUpee
via email and arrange a TRY OUT on any server recruiter wants.
When both recruiter and signupee meet, recruiter must tell player to play and recruiter should do
ALL OF PART II. If recruiter feels player is awesome and can help VeX, then player should be invited, no matter what.
We will also except players that are just OK, but not players with bad attitudes, or bad sportsmanship.
However, since part D has already been done by recruit before try-out, therefore it's not needed to do it,
again because lix already has the info.
IIIa. V'er name.
----------------
After recruitment, the recruit is now an official VeX and they should be instructed to change their
name to V_Name.
IV. Waiting Period & Bootcamp.
------------------------------
A new recruit must be notified that he must stay with VeX, and be active, for 2 weeks. During these two weeks, he/she
will recive the "Welcome" letter, which has info about Y!G, and the V'er program.
Also during these two weeks, that recruit must wear only V_. After this waiting period of two weeks, he will be
given full VeX_ Name, if the recruit has done everything right.

More Old Files
Hi,
Welcome to the V'er Program. Now that you have successfully signed
up for VeX-Clan on yahoogroups, you have another mission awaiting you.
In order to be considered for FULL VEX, you must send an email to
which includes your V_Name and your intended
VeX_Name. Also mention which Section you belong to, and who your
recruiter is. Once you submit this information, will you be considered
for full VeX membership.
Why do we do this? In order to have a large, well-oiled machine
like our Clan running, you must follow orders. This is your first
mission as a VeX Recruit. If you can complete this mission, you will
prove you can follow orders and you will take your first step towards
earning the trust of your Squad Leader. Your email address will never
be sold and you can't get SPAMMED from this secure mailing list.
Even more Old File Stuff
This file is for everyone to read, but only Recruiters may Recruit. Recruiters must be designated by the Section Leader. By Clan Vote, the Recruiter MUST BE AT LEAST SERGEANT'S RANK. This list applies to all Sections.
Recruiter Checklist:
Acquire Target: You will either be asked by someone, or you will find someone who is a target for being in VeX. Add them to your Zonefriends list, and immediately start a notepad file on them. Take good notes.
Commit: Get the new recruit to commit. Ask them if they want to join VeX and they must state "yes" unconditionally. This is your permission to move on to step three.
Interrogate: Write down their desired VeX_Name in your notepad. Ask them if they belong, or ever belonged, to another Clan. If so, who? And why did they leave? Ask them how long they are online? Ask them if they will be loyal to our Clan? While interrogating, watch for attitude, and report it. Also write down anything strage they say. You may add other questions, but you must ask the above exactly as written here.
Test: This is their first test as a new recruit. As the first test, it is very important, but very simple: Tell them to email Dano. This serves a few purposes. First, they will need to know Dano's email address, but instead of giving it out, tell them to find the email addresses on vexclan.com. Tell them to read the V'er Program page and email Dano. This will give them a tour of our homepage. In their email to Dano they must state their VeX_Name and the Section they want to join.
Rate: Play the recruit in a game of your choice. Test them out; thrash them, talk to them, go hard, then easy... see what they can do. Watch for skill level, strafing, correct loadout, hosting ability, etc... After the game, decide SILENTLY if this person is a V'er Recruit, or good enuf for a full VeX. Rating is different from Ranking. In Outwars, Elixir is the only one who can rank you, but recruiters can RATE.
Enlist: This is their second real "test." They must sign on to eGroups and become a Clan Member. This should take no longer than 10 minutes. After the recruit enters their email and A PASSWORD OF THEIR CHOICE into the system, the system will email that address they just put in. THEY MUST READ AND REPLY TO THE EMAIL. I can not authorize recruits that don't respond to that email. Recruiters are allowed to help recruits get logged to eGroups (as many people seem to think it's very hard), but use discretion. Don't give TOO much help, or you'll be stuck helping the recruit ALL the time. After they have replied to the email that eGroups sends out to discourage fakes, AND ONLY AFTER THEY HAVE REPLIED, you are authorized to tell the Recruit they are an official VeX and they should change their name to V_Name. They may not like the V designation, and request immediate VeX. Tell them to be patient their application is being reviewed. Again, step six should take no longer than 10 minutes (unless eGroups is down, which they will state).
Report: This is the hardest part for the recruiter. This is where you email both Elixir and Dano (in the case of Outwars, but for other sections, you would email the Section Leader). In your email, you must report the notes you made in section 3 and the results of your rating in section 5. The recruit MUST be signed on to eGroups (I will be able to see attmepts).
Reward: If you recruit 2 (was 5, i think) members who stay with the Clan, you are entitled to some wonderful reward, which (right now) is an Outwars CD, but if you already have that, email Elixir and Dano to work out something else.
About the Old Files
Now that we have the old files I think that since I did get the bootcamp kind of thing going but unless we can come up with a copy that means no form so I was wondering if anyone was up for the duty it isn't hard just some typing and creativity. It is a easy task for anyone. And if someone already says that have it still write your I might combine some and not use any but I think that if it is a Section effort that everyone can agree with and be happy with it and say that they had some imput in the form.
Great!
Ok, now that we have the past in front of us, we can surely move on to the future. I would like to give you all a few days to look this over and submit your ideas for changes.
Please be specific, as we have a lot of things to consider.
We are trying to lay the foundation for a Recruiting and Training program, that we will call the "V'er Program." We call it that because, in the past, we would assign a tag of "V_" to the front of all new recruit's names.
When they proved themselves, they would be allowed to wear the "full VeX_". This has not changed.
Let's hear what you think will work, and won't work for each Section. Let's also make sure that each Section's Recruiters are part of this important discussion.
<bump>
No discussion on this most important point for two weeks? I'm ashamed. Let's get this going again. Especially since this seems to me to be the most important topic in VeX right now.
Policy
Since this is kind of RtCW specific, I never responded figuring it belonged in their forum. I will take a closer look and generalize the info with bracketed info for specific sections. It looks good at first look, but lets pick it apart so that we get the best program available. Expect my response as soon as possible in Kresh time.
My first thought is that we can simplify it on each end without losing the quality of testing someone's ability to follow instructions/orders.

Re: Policy
Right.
But whats the best choice for each section ? I think OW will do best with the the same system as we used to have, with recruiters/trainers.
Will it be the same for all other sections ? What do the Section Leaders think ? And who will be the OIC for the V'er Program ?
