Problem:
VeX has become un-organized, inactive, and outdated.
Solution:
1. Gather all members, who want to help VeX, into a group.
2. Upon completion, "format" VeX. "Format" meaning, remove all members, sections, this board, images, etc... Everything. Only keep documents relating to the governing system of VeX. ex: V'er Program
3. The group of members will decide on a game for VeX to focus on. The game has to be decided on by all, and the game must have a decent player base Don't want to join a dying game.
4. After selecting a game, the group will take the former governing system used by VeX, military democracy, and start the process of building a new member base. Revisions to the governing system might be required.
5. While the construction of a new member base begins, a new web site will need to be uploaded. With one game, I believe updates through basic HTML will suffice, as no complex clan-management system is required.
Notes for the website:
The site should be updated frequently with news, new members, page updates, etc... A tip, for keeping content new, is to give access to the website to multiple users instead of a one or two members.
Visitors that view the site will take the sites image as the clans image... A noobish design can result in a noobish image for the entire clan, no matter the actual skill of players.
The web site should be made for both visitors and clan members.
Continuing:
6. Once the group has completed building a strong member base, a web site, and a revised governing system, the group will now need to set goals for the clan. Goals are good as it will keep the clan always looking forward and never idle.
Afterward, the initial group will either disband, or rule as a joint committee.

Yeah, I know what your thinking... "What the ****, what's that guy doing on here." ^_^ I have been gaming a little with a few VeX'ers and I was told about this problem so I figured as a retiree, I would offer some useless advice. ;)

Sup, Loot. How you been? Waking from retirement? Or just teasing us with your fevered presence? :wink:
You can start by erasing number 2 of your plan. I can't let anyone erase our Clan's past. The entire database takes up less than three megs on the server and 6 megs fully expanded. It's not like we're out of space or bandwidth. AND I'm not fond of tearing down what we spent years building.
ALMOST the rest of your plan is exactly what I would do. However, doing all that will take a year. Stake your bets now, cuz I'm serious about that. Even if we had no troublemakers in the mix, and everything went according to a tight schedule, I don't think we would be able to finish that in six months.
One thing you need to add to your equations, there, is that there needs to be an override in the case of a deadlock tie in voting. What happens when we can't decide diplomatically? 2 outta 3 deathmatch in the game of your choice? Is that fair? Who knows... those are questions to debate sometime during the next six months.
Another thing is how many VeX will be willing to wait around? The few live fires we have left may just burn out.
One thing I have always disagreed with is your concept that a "new website needs to be uploaded"... It is complete crap. Pardon my bluntness, but you know me well enough to avoid the small talk. We designed this site to be open to new sections and creative desires of every member, with personal pages and test sections and full sections of every type. This site is mechanically superior to ANY clan site out there. I dare you to show me different. (A challenge maybe?)
I do not relish the idea of archiving it all in favor of some static HTML bling-bling. What happened to the dynamic programmer in you, Epa? Huh? Heh, the real next step is to make user-configurable templates or standardize the signup procedure using forms design, etc. Tearing it down is NOT the way to go.
Epa, from here on out, this message is not pointed at you, but as if I stepped up on the soapbox and started preaching.
This is, again, rather blunt, but I must say to all you VeX who read this: Don't wait around for someone else to do it for you. Show me what you got. Don't just bitch and whine about how things should be.
More than half of what you ask for is sitting right in front of you already. Tired of this blue color? Then show me what you want it to look like. Want to see some news updates? Go fuckin' write one and email it to me. Pull your goddamn heads out of your incompetant asses and start proving that you are a VeX! Like some eye-candy that you see somewhere on the web? Take a screenshot and post it. I mean fuck! Do you even use the file transfer system that Epagien and Kresh went overboard to build for us?
You say you need news and member updates and access to design to more than one person! Are you stoned man!? How many webmasters does/did VeX have? Warhawk, Me, Dano, Epagien, Helix, Kresh, any one of the many section leaders who made their own pages, the list goes on and on? If someone wants to have a subdomain, they might just have to prove they know what one is, if you get my drift. LMAO!

First of All HELIX... U guys made the site to the willing of the oldies... not the new guys.... Second of all... This site is Borring.... It makes me soar in the eyes just to look at it, I've seen better sites then this rust bucket, I do believe that we shouldn't get rid of the History, but a enw site Layout would be very helpfull.... If u dont mind I'd be more then happy to draw them out for our (not urs) clan. I'm donig this for the clan, Now lix... Move asside and give the keys up....

I haven't spoken much lately. When you are an older member, I know it. People in my position (who have been around forever) see the so-called "new" VeX dictate everything about the clan ignoring the fact that the old people you are pissing off are the people that created and maintained one of the most successful clans ever... websites and all.
If you are going to challenge any authority, do it politely. Cross your t's and dot your i's. Horrible spelling and sentence fragments just show ignorance. How can anyone successfully be receptive to a point if an aura of ignorance surrounds your message.
As far as the clan rebuilding, listen to Elixir. The two of us, if not more, could very well be the last sane people left. If you don't like the site and it makes your eyes "soar" (shit, i hope you don't get whiplash), then learn html and php.

Head down to the Graphic Design form and open a new thread where you POST URLs linking us to the site you like the looks of.
Also, you need to attend the meetings, or you cannot be taken seriously.

Kudos to leopard and blaster who got me addicted to ow again. They are always online and r always in the mood for ow. I dunno if the clan knows, but they truly DID revive ow again in the past 2-3 weeks. Last week we had 4 - 5 VeX members playing ow in dp including ghost, epag, diablo, ALSO Pure_Nitrous!
I dunno y this is happening. Epag posted some ideas, leopard only got excited. He proposed for a new leader. Epag is a retiree, a busy man :wink: , and probably doesn't want to lead. Leadership is not the issue. And I don't understand y lix focussed on leo from his quick post which triggered this reaction.
One thing really is true. We are not seeing "hardcopies". All we see are ideas, good ideas but no one really develops anything. This is the reason we ain't going forward. It's not the leadership. Leader can do all the shit, we gotta submit real work to him.
One thing I wanna say about lix. He's doesn't really play online games much. Compare to blaster's and leopard's activity in games, he's a mere baby. BUT he does appear online on Yim (confirmed by many members) and I promise you he will not be slow in looking at your stuff. Email him what you got, he WILL see it. I have handed (in the past), many projects including the VeX menu, and he was not slow.
Leopard don't leave the clan. You are one of the most active players we got. Forget what happened. If you have a problem with anyone, talk to them (privately is possible). Work it out...
