my (future) cs server says that it ahs a disk in it but there isnt. now my qeustion is wtf is broken my floopydrive or my motherboard

At first I was thinking u could disable the A: drive in your BIOS setup, just as a test to see if the motherboard was working. But if your A: drive is bad, that test won't work anyway.
So the best thing to do is open the case the unplug the A: drive from either power or the flat cable, either one or both, howsoever, and then reboot to see if your BIOS shows an error that the A: drive is missing.
If it does, then your motherboard is sensing the A: drive. If not, then either my test is bogus, or your motherboard lost a connection somewhere.
