AA

Whose leading this section. Its one of the few games i play now, and other than this signup form, I dont see a lot going on.

I might just have to commandeer this section with it being so active and all. But, i guess turning AA into a solid section, possibly backbone section is just too far fetched.

Its free, not hard on system resources, it has a new update, the Army will probably maintain and expand on this investment. It shows promise above all games and no one is putting the effort in to build this section in an active manner.

I don't know how many of our members were around when VeX was always recruiting. Now the recruiting count is ridiculously low, as sections dwindle. I just don't think it's worth the effort to set the example of how to lead a section if no one will follow. I don't think my word holds much creedence with anyone around here anymore, but i don't know why.

New mission

Blaster, your new mission is to recruit players to the message board. Create a NEW topic to replace the old AA signup topic and the current AA signup form at the /aa/ directory.

Get solid, dedicated players to post into the topic. In the meantime, I am requesting that you or someone else simply make a jpeg or simple but attractive html page that just gives the info for the game, why to join, and what to expect from the section.
When that is up and there are at least 5 members, I or someone else will make a new AA page.

I want this section off the ground, bottom line. There shouldn't be any reason why we can't do this.

So blasta, you focus on recruiting, as will I. Find someone (or you) make that placeholder page. When our membership shows 5 solid members, a page will come like a christmas package.

As for the rest of the clan. Download this game or I will come to your house, kick your dog, slap your mom, and then strip you of your rank.

If you like any of these games, AA is for you:
Tom Clancy Series (rainbow six or ghost recon)
Counter-Strike (guess who the army was trying to emulate)
Battlefield Series

They are all popular games so maybe you guys just aren't that popular. :\

Sorry you feel that way. When you speak I certainly listen. Blaster, Epagien, GhostMarine and I were online and had an impromptu meeting regarding this thread. I found there were mixed feelings on this subject so I evolved the conversation to find out more. My main goal is to get enough information to make a decision about how to proceed with the AA section.

First let me represent the thoughts that were uncovered at the meeting: First is the fact that Blaster is Section Leader and that fact by itself make it so that he technically out ranks you, Kresh, in this section. Because of that is kind of "stepped on his dick" when you came into the section and immediately gave orders. That feeling was confirmed by Epagien.

The other side of the story that I see is that you, Kresh, are trying to better the Clan, which is an honorable goal, deserved of your rank. I'll tell you that I am very happy about your decision to take some responsibility of the AA section. Blaster would agree on this point because he's busy at work sometimes. At the same time, we need to acknowledge the hard work that Blaster did.

So here's how I'd like to proceed. Kresh, I'd like you to be Co-Leader of the AA section, while Blaster retains Section Leadership. If that is ok with you, I think it will enable all parties to work together.

The bottom line is we all want the Clan to succeed. Teamwork is the key, and I think Kresh appropriately identified that. However, Kreshy, your TACT needs a touchup. For a military brat, I thought you'd know that better. Heheh.

If you can work together, Kresh has indeed outlined some very good first steps. Once the rank issue is out of the way, you can both move forward on it.

If this line of reasoning is no good for you, let me know. There's always room to discuss things.

It was supposed to raise hairs. Now that this section has some attention. Blaster, Epagien, Elixir, and a few others are doing too much(in a relative sense). We can't look to inactive members for help. We need to recruit and develop. Shaman and supaplant are examples of what we need. AA is the breeding ground for loyal and experienced gamers.

Most of my recent posts are out of frustration. I will be leaving next year and I would like to leave the clan in a stable condition. Too much has been shouldered by too few.

The fire under the ass approach is one way to get things done, though I stepped on toes. But intentions don't remedy actions.

Anyways, Blaster is more than qualified to lead this section. But the SL doesn't ha
ve to be the webmaster. Get some talent in the squad and build from the ground up. One strong section becomes the backbone for one clan. OUTWARS. when it went under, the clan almost did. We need more than one backbone to survive.

I want to get things moving in a positive direction. What makes Kresh happy is when new people start helping out. If more people put in the effort, the clan becomes more personal to them which brings loyalty. All decisions should aim for loyalty.

New helpers
New webpages that are updated with relevant content- MUST have a reason for all gamers to visit
Advertise proposed sections with a webpage to gain interest
New sections that have a long lifespan
Balance the load

Get people to come to the website(not just the forum) by offering relevant content. A forum isn't content. It's not hard- we used to have a DEEP website. It doesn't take much- just a 2-3 more web designers and 2-3 more "leader leaders."

I'm done rambling.

Hey I totally agree with your points. VeX is a very structured entity nowadays. We have started a Collaboration page. Email me separately if you want to spend your last year working on stuff with us. AND I KNOW YOU DO...
