What should be the goal(s) of our government?

What should our leaders focus on?

  1. Recruiting Dev.
  2. New Content (new sections, tournaments, site updates)
  3. Clan Promotion (...)

I am interested in everyones idea's as in a few weeks (hopefully), we can nominate/elect three Cabinet members that will begin forming the new 'governing system'. These Cabinet members will be expected to work with section leaders and general clan members on recruitment, site management, and overall behavior in the clan.

... Right?

What should be the goal(s) of our government?

My goal as leader of the runescape section is to get 20, GOOD, FULLY COMMITED, STRONG players. We need to not just be able to go pking when we set a date and everyone is available but every day! there should be enough members in runescape that we should be able to Go pking with a big group any time we want to.

I LOVE runescape, I'll tell you that right now but... well... come ON! We got to get some new games around here! I am kinda ashamed. You go to the front page, Starcraft (dead), Counter-Strike (dead), Americas Army (So Slow, Practically dead.) Then there are two staging arenas. We started on halo months ago people! Lets get a move on!!! DO SOMETHING WITH IT!! As for AOE I am very proud of this group that is willing to bring this section to life! Thanks Aero.

My goal in this clan as a person is to be high enough in the ranks to really put my ideas as a whole in this clan to action. Actually see my dreams of this clan moving up and above completed.

What should be the goal(s) of our government?

Leaders should be able to put aside time to deal with their responsibilities.
This time should be reserved for each day that will allow the subordinates to seek guidance from the leader.

... thoughts? more to come

Yo, Die_Now, you already are high enough rank to do pretty much everything you need....

I want to focus on recruiting dev. please. I'll vote for that.

What should be the goal(s) of our government?

Here are a few more words from me,

Recruiting Development - VeX only has one active section, and DiE_NoW has told his goals for this section, which should be done by any section leader. Having a set of goals will keep the section focused and active.

Continuing, The Cabinet should anaylze these goals, and then find out what DiE_NoW is currently doing in the section to accomplish these goals (recruiting policies, tryouts, join pages?). The Cabinet should give suggestions to DiE_NoW on how to improve the section... and in some cases, a section leader might be doing everything close to perfect, but time is the only factor remaining.

The Cabinet should work with every section leader everytime a new set of goals is released. It is expected that this responsibility will become to large for The Cabinet, and this is when The Cabinet should create the 'Development Department' to handle this duty, as well as other duties relating to section management.

More to come on other points, New Content and Clan Promotion.

I'm always open for suggestions. If you dont take suggestion they start rioting!

hmmm... I guess you are right lix :) maybe i just like seeing the cool logo next to my name =P

What should be the goal(s) of our government?

Also, I beleive i would be pretty good as a leader because I own all the games that anyone would want to play. For example:

Battlefield 1942
Counter-Strike
Starcraft + Expansion
Warcraft III
America's Army
Half-Life
RavenShield
etc.

And i have room for more!

Hmm,
* tries to find a link to a 'HOW-TO: Create a section guide' *

Let's get 'The Cabinet' up... and then, the Cabinet members can hear ideas for new sections.

But, I figure we don't want to spread DiE_NoW out to thin with leadership responsibilities. Back in the days, WarHawk ran several sections, but even he got spread to thin and ... lost interest? ...

What should be the goal(s) of our government?

... Upon the initiation of The Cabinet, I would like to see The Cabinet:

  1. Focus on Standard Operating Procedures for main areas
"...The purpose of a SOP is to carry out the operations correctly and always in the same manner. A SOP should be available at the place where the work is done".
SOPs for Section creation, recruiting, etc...
If this task proves to be to much for The Cabinet. A department could be created to handle the tasks of developing the SOPs, and The Cabinet could review the finished SOPs and see if they are sufficient for use.
    Thoughts?
  2. Focus on Departments
The goal of the 'new' government is to define responsibilities. Departments should be used to group a general area of responsibilities.
-ex- Section Department -> Recruiting -> Runescape Recruiters
The Cabinet should keep the number of departments to less than 10... Remember departments handle a general area of the clan, so there shouldn't be more than 10 general areas in a clan, Sections, Discipline, Justice, Spys, Web Site, SOP Development, etc... And those can even be generalized...

What should be the goal(s) of our government?

I dont want to LEAD other sections. I would just want to start them, find someone who is willing to take over after i situated the section, and let them take control.

What should be the goal(s) of our government?

The name for this role would be 'Game Commander,' where a member wants to establish a new section with intentions to let someone be Section Leader. The responsibilities haven't been discussed, so for all we know, a 'Game Commander' has to recruit 5 members, create a section page, and find a section leader... and then it could be as easy as getting a forum for the section.

* This position is part of the 'new' government. *
