VeX was founded in 1998 as an online game Clan. Over the years, our database has grown, members have come and gone, and come again, and the Clan lives on. This is where we gather the collective wisdom put forth by our members over the years. Many VeX (maybe even you!) have been quoted here, many have helped develop our rules and structure.
Because of that, what you get with VeX is a time-tested, working Clan structure that enables a society to live on despite the challenges of time. Yeah, we have our quirks, but we also have a family feel that many other Clans can't offer.
VeX Core staff located "nuggets" of VeX goodness buried in the forums using the 'outline' tab at the top of key posts. They have the ability to select options and click 'add page to book'. Your entry will show up here. No editing needed. Likewise you can create a new child page by clicking below. This is good for cut-n-paste information from other pages.
Your contribution to this section will be appreciated. If you find something, get the URL and send a contact form to the admin. If you're a Core member, you should know how to do this using the tips above.
The VeX Clan was created in December of 1997 by VeX_WarHawk. The very first game of the VeX Clan was Age of Empires, which later expanded to Starcraft, and Outwars, and Jedi Knights within a year.

Did I forget someone, please let me know.
This is the thread to debate, refine and manage our V'er Program. All VeX are welcome to add their thoughts at any time, as with all parts of this board.
The first order of business will be to introduce to everyone the existing "V'er Program" as we have it now. I am assigning that task to WhosNext.
Hey guys. I have been thinking about it ever since I bought this game (which was around the same time I joined VeX). The game I am proposing to make a section is called Guild Wars. Maybe some of you have heard of it but for those of you who haven't it's a MMORPG. I know your probably saying," Well we already have 2 sections that are MMO's, why do we need another?" Well, just listen to my proposal and you might change your mind.
Guild Wars: The Basics
Like I said Guild Wars is and MMORPG, but it does some things that are different from others. First is the fact that THERE IS NO MONTHLY FEE! That's right, you pay for the game and it's smooth sailing from there and you won't need to shove anymore money into it. Another thing is that the level cap is 20. Yes, a bit low, but the developers did this for a reason. See instead of focusing on leveling up to win your battles, it becomes more about skill with you class (or in Guild Wars profession) then who's the higher level. Another interesting thing is that you can have 2 classes at once. You can be a ranger (an archer with pet control) combined with a necromancer (a class inwhich you raise the dead). So you get the benefit's of both and you can combine spells from the 2 classes for stratigical combos. One other thing is that there are no server's in Guild Wars. There are instead "districts" that you can hop your character through so if you wanted to get together with your friend, you wouldn't have to start a new character on another server. Just scroll down the list of districts and go to ther one you want. Each city has its own set of districts and the number of districts depends on how many people go there.
Guild Wars: The Role Playing Part
In Guild Wars you create your character (shape what he or she looks like, choose a name, pick the Profession) and he/she is thrown into the world. In the beggining you do simple quests and learn how the game works in the world. A thing I should tell you about is this. The towns, citys, and settlements, is where all the people are. It's here that you can buy, sell, talk with other's, and find party members for quests. But once you step out of the city, there is only you and your party in the wilderness. The game creates a special area, just for you and your party to do quests. No longer will other adventurers screw up your quests because you and your party will be the only one's in the wilderness. Now there are 2 types of quests, normal everyday quests where you get small benefits, then there are big story line quests. These quests are all stringed together, they also have cutscene's that tell you what to do in the quest and advance you in the story line. It's through these quests that you will travel all over the world.
A final note about the Role-Playing part is that it is VERY party influenced. You really can't progress through the game unless you work with other people. You can get computer "henchmen" but they arn't as smart as real people.
Guild Wars: PvP
Now this is the meat and potatoes of the game. This is where you fight other players and show who's got the better skills. When you create a character, you choose wether that character is PvP or Role-Playing. When you choose pvp, you can choose what kind of PvP you want to get into. Theres regular arena where you are put in a random group and you fight other random group. Then there is the Hall of Heroes PvP, which is the big serious teams duke it out for supremecy. Then the coolest, the Guild PvP. This is where Guilds fight other guilds to see which guild has the better skills. This is the coolest one in my opinion and VeX could have some fun with it.
Now when you start the character he/she automatically starts at level 20. You choose the character's primary profession and secondary profession and the spells (or in Guild Wars skills) that you will use. Then you choose the armor and the weapons you want the character to have. Then you name the character and thrust him/her into the pvp world. From here you enter matches against other teams and fight in an arena. The more kills and victories you get, the more faction points you get. You can use these points to buy upgrades for your weapons, armor, and you can buy new skills.
Note: Guilds can purchase things called guild halls. These halls are where everyone in the guild hangs out and organizes some PvP action or quest action. These halls cost quite alot of gold (games currency) but we could have guild meetings there and just hang out.

Why I want to propose this new section.
I want to do this because I really like the game and I love to PvP. I also think it would be fun to have guild PvP and show that VeXers are kick ass in any game they play. Another reason why I want to do this is that I want to contribute something big to the clan. I also want to prove myself to the clan and show that I can be a leader. There also some pracical reasons. One is that people who play Guild Wars, also play WoW and sometimes some runescape. So if this is made a section, those who join could also be apart of the WoW or RS, which means new recruits for those sections as well! Of coarse if the section is successful I will still be VERY active in the Call of Duty section.
Well thank you for reading my long ass proposal. I eagerly await you guestions and you comments. Thank you again.
:D
A few members might remember being in the V'er Program. The V'er Program was created by WarHawk in '99 to train players who didn't make it into VeX but wanted taining. The program was used in Outwars at first, but in time expanded to other sections...

The V'er Program began August 15th 1999 with one member.
A couple months after the creation of the V'er Program, WarHawk placed Elixir as 'General Leader of the Outwars Section,' and he, WarHawk, became inactive. Without someone to maintain the V'er program, it became inactive until Elixir rejuvenated and improved the program.

The purpose of the program was revised. It was used as a median to train players who didn't meet the average VeX skill level. These players were given the V_ tag until they could beat their sponsor. This revision removed the join form for Outwars and thus became the primary recruitment tool for the Outwars section.
Elixir maintained the V'er Program until '00 when Dano took charge of it.
This program has helped VeX grow, but has recently become forgotten.
Perhaps its time for a revision and put it back in operation.
This is the V'er Section for VeX_CoD. Here we have each of our recruits and their assigned Instructor. Its your job instructors to help our V_'s out, give them feed back, give them tips and answer their questions. However, if anyone is aproached by a V_ for help they should never be turned down.

WarHawk lead all sections up until August 4th 1999. Section Leaders were introduced to oversee specific sections, and this has been so since then.

The first ranking structure was based on different shades of Blue with Solid Blue being the highest rank and black is the lowest rank.

This picture was taken of the Outwars ranking structure

The second ranking structure began first in Outwars by Elixir. Elixir was placed as General Leader of Outwars by WarHawk(?) on November 27, 1999 which followed with the implementation of the new structure/government, Military Democracy. The structure was modeled after the marine corps http://www.defenselink.mil/specials/insignias/, which Elixir had served as. Elixir began to educate the members of the Outwars section on the new ranks/ribbons and new programs (Reserves, Enlisted, etc...), which brought VeX out of a slump. Today, we call this Military Democracy and has expanded to all sections.
